Modern style Chardonnay with crisp acidity
Pale straw green in colour with a complex bouquet, nutty and lifted. The palate is fine and deep with a long finish.
WINEMAKER’S NOTE: Pale straw green in colour showing complex bouquet of intense citrus, roasted cashew and flinty notes. The palate is fine and creamy with a long crisp finish.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS: The 2020 growing season was characterised by a moderate spring followed by a dry and warm summer. These conditions made for one of the earliest vintages in recent years. An excellent vintage for Margaret River Chardonnay.
VINEYARDS: The fruit for this wine was sourced from a single vineyard site from the southern area of Margaret River.
VINIFICATION: Hand-picked grapes were chilled overnight and whole bunch pressed. The juiced was fermented with wild yeast in a combination of 40% new and 60% seasoned French oak barriques where it remained on fine lees for eight months, then carefully clarified and bottled.

The Real Review- Huon Hooke: “Light to mid-yellow colour with a candlewax aroma, which is youthful and straightforward for its age. There are lemony flavours of good intensity and focus. A very nice wine, which just lacks some of the richness and generosity of classic Margs chardonnay.”

The West Australian Wine Guide 2019 – Ray Jordan: “This impressive, elegant chardonnay is one of the best from this producer. Engaging aromas of butterscotch and citrusy grapefruit with an underlying nectarine complexity. The palate is light-bodied but intense, with a tight controlling structure that carries it to a very long finish. The minerally edginess adds that final piece to the equation. Nice wine.”

Halliday Wine Companion – James Halliday:“From the Northern part of Margaret River. Hand-picked, chilled overnight, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented, 8 months in barrel. Full of peach- white and yellow-plus some grapefruit.”

Wine Enthusiast Importer Connection – “The palate echos the nose, all smartly poised on a lean, moderate body, with grippy, back palate acidity nicely juxtaposing the creamy oatmeal-textured midpalate. There are clear mushroom and earth notes that show positive bottle age. The lingering finish and layered flavors suggest that this has the legs to go a few more years.”

Halliday Wine Companion – Erin Larkin “Rich, dense and concentrated, the stone fruit is ripe, full bodied and laden with crushed and toasted nuts. The length of flavour is good, it really draws out over the palate. Acid is taut and creates a salivating trampoline on which the fruit can bounce.”
