Vibrant ruby red colour with purple shades, the nose featuring aromas of red fruits and notes of green pepper. The Syrah balances the savoury Nero d’Avola with some solid fruit sweetness and depth.
Product Tasting Notes
WINEMAKER’S NOTE: Vibrant ruby red, with some purple. Aromas of red fruits and spice – typical of the variety, are lifted and an immediately striking characteristic. On the palate, spicy and savoury Nero d’Avola is balanced with some solid Shiraz fruit sweetness and depth. Some characteristic crispness on the finish leaves no doubt as to the wine’s origin.
The 2019 growing season was characterised by a moderate spring followed by a dry and warm summer. These conditions made for one of the earliest vintages in recent years. Fruit was in perfect condition and full flavoured.
VINEYARDS: Grapes for this wine were sourced from vineyards in western Sicily. Vertical vine training and guyot pruning allow the best expression of both these varieties to reflect their unique wine style and origins.
VINIFICATION: Grapes were fermented and matured in steel at a controlled temperature, racked and matured until bottling.
