VINEYARDS: Traditional viticulture and practice in the Prosecco region of northern Italy. Cool convective winds off the Alps moderate the warm temperatures on the Italian plain.
VINIFICATION: Hand-picked fruit was crushed, chilled and the juice separated, then clarified immediately. After primary fermentation the wine was re-fermented in a closed pressure vessel. The finished sparkling wine was then clarified and bottled under counter pressure to retain the entrained carbon dioxide – a vital component of the style.

Stephen –
Please let everyone know how a West Australian vineyard has a DOCG Asolo Prosecco on its list!!! It is very nice, but quite a mystery!

Hi Stephen, we send our Winemaker Brian Fletcher over to Italy to make this wine and then we import it. Brian also makes a Nero D’avola/Shiraz in Sicily that we also import – this wine is sold exclusively through Naked Wines Australia.
Nancy –
I just love your Prosecco, it was recommended by my daughter.
My family is from Treviso and I am in Italy every year, except this year because of Covid19.
I will putting in an order for some Prosecco shortly.
Many thanks and regards,
Nancy

Huon Hooke – The Real Review: “Very light yellow colour with a very persistent foam of fine bubbles. The aroma is straw-like and slightly earthy, very savoury and not floral or fruity. The palate is very dry and restrained. It has some intensity and length. A young, simple, basic fizz that is quite appealing for its dryness and savouriness. It has a touch of grip and leaves the mouth refreshed.”

Dr Louis Papaelias – Medical Forum Magazine: This grape hails from northern Italy, produced in a large area spanning nine provinces in the Vaneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. The name is taken after the village of Prosecco. The main grape variety originally called Prosecco was renamed as Glera in 2009within the Euroean Union. Asolo is a town with its own special classification which signifies uniqueness and higher quality than standard Prosecco. Labelled as extra dry the 14g/l of residual sugar is hardly noticeable in this very crisp and fruity sparkling wine. An ideal aperitif, fresh and lively.

Huon Hooke – The Gourmet Traveller: “Until the EU steps in, which could happen quite soon, Australians will continue to produce prosecco as fast as the public laps it up. Calneggia is a WA-based family company that decided to go offshore for its raw materials. The appearance is very light, with a persistent foam of fine bubbles. The aroma is straw-like, gently earthy and more savoury than floral or fruity. The palate is very dry and restrained, but has intensity and length. A young, simple, basic but pleasingly dry bubbly.”

Stuart Knox:The Real Review- “Pale straw yellow hue. Apple skin and biscuit notes on the nose. Good concentration of apple fruits on entry, has sweetness which as an ‘Extra Dry’ is to be expected. The balance of acidity does bring a sense of tension and it carries good length with a fine bead throughout”.
