WINEMAKER’S NOTE: Pale straw some green. Attractive lifted citrus, nectarine varietal Chardonnay flavours with subtle oak complexity. Palate is textured and vibrant with great persistence.
VINTAGE: A wet Spring followed by dry and mild summer made for long ripening enabling good flavour development in white varietals while retaining fresh natural acid.
VINEYARDS: Our vineyards are in northern Margaret River with soils of mostly fine clay loams over ironstone. All vines are vertically shoot positioned and run in north south aspect.
VINIFICATION: Grapes were night harvested and the juice cold pressed. Fermentation in seasoned oak barrels resulted in textured wine with bright Chardonnay fruit flavour from early bottling.

Dr Louis Papaelias – Medical Forum Magazine: “Nothing to fault here. Clean Pure varietal chardonnay. Ripe peach and melon and some oak seasoning for completeness. All flavours nicely balanced. Crisp clean finish leaving behind a lingering presence. Good value.” (2018 Vintage)

Winestate Magazine: “Line and length Margaret River chardonnay; not one to set the pulse racing, but ticks the requisite boxes. Peachy varietal aromas with some nutty/nougat character, presumably from oak, although the winemaker’s notes describe it as ‘lightly oak matured’. The flavours are fresh and the mouthfeel and finish show above average quality – it’s a safe bet at the price.” (2018 vintage)

Wine Enthusiast Importer Connection – “Clean, light, bright and very youthful, this smells of honeydew melon, yellow grapefruit and fresh herbs joined by a distinctive leafiness on the nose. The moderate-bodied palate is downright tangy with reverberating acidity. The energetic—almost frenzied—fruit is mildly concentrated and the flavors are straightforward. Moderate in alcohol, this is lean and citrusy enough to mesh nicely with salads, ceviche and light fish dishes. The minerally finish is swift, suggesting this is a wine for early drinking.”

The Real Review- Stuart Knox: Pale lemon yellow. Nectarine, mango, and pea-shoot aromatics. Bright and fresh nectarine fruit on the palate, a saline minerality sits through the middle and accentuates the bright acidity. Good length to a clean finish. Appealing in its fresh simplicity.

Halliday Wine Companion- Erin Larkin:”Fermentation in seasoned French oak. 2021 was an odd one for Margaret River, with 2 major rain events right before and during harvest that provided some nail-biting tmes for viticulturists and winemakers. We are only just seeing these wines come onto the market now. Very delicate flavour profile here, nothing overt or intense- white peach, apple and jasmine tea make up the core of the experience. Length of flavour is there, but it’s quiet, you have to pay attention. Very pretty.”

The Cellar Talk, The West Australian- “A modern, fresh, easy drinking wine with a little complexity from the oak component. It has a citrus and nectarine character on the palate with a little creaminess and nuttiness. A fresh and precisely focused wine that carries to a long and sustained finish.”
