WINEMAKER’S NOTE: Deep colour with the classic bouquet of briar Cabernet and unmistakably Margaret River this wine has a velvety and fine structured palate.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS: 2020 was a perfect vintage for red wines. The maturation period through the growing season saw the classic Margaret River weather patterns giving rise to good canopy development and soil moisture levels with good maturities across all varieties.
VINEYARDS: Located in north of the Margaret River region our vineyard was planted almost 20 years ago. Low yielding and now mature.
VINIFICATION: Machine picked grapes were fermented in static fermenter and pumped over daily. On dryness, the wine was run to seasoned French oak barrels. It was finally bottled after 16 months in oak and laid down for further maturation until release.

The Real Review – Stuart Knox: “Intense black to dark red hues. Blackberries, dust and dried bay leaf aromas. The palate shows brighter black fruits. Good line and length that flows well from front to back. Dusty tannins, layers of clay and morcilla add savoury complexity. Drives well into the finish.”

The West Australian Wine Guide 2021 – Ray Jordan: “One of the best Cabernets yet from Rosabrook. It has been crafted into an elegant wine based on some excellent fruit from this good season. The vimeyard characters of firmish tannins are eveident, but these have been managed well. Tight grained oak works with the concentrated fruit. Has some sicey and slightly cedary oak. Firm assertive finish.”

Winestate: “A great example of a greener style of cabernet. “A pleasure to judge” according to one of the panel. Very Varietal, lovely structure, and grippy tannins.”

Medical Forum Magazine – Dr Louis Papaelias: ‘Classical varietal cabernet typical of Margaret River. Initially subdued, this wine opens up with breathing to reveal attractive cassis aromas with hints of olive, Greenleaf and chocolate wrapped up in nicely firm tannins. Again, like other wines above, expertly made with no rough edges and clean dry lingering finish. Good value.’

Wine Enthusiast Importer Connection – “Robustly aromatic, this wine spews aromas of blackberry, black currant, evergreen and spice drawer. Spicy and almost headstrong, this is a robust, full-bodied wine. Pure in fruit and elegant in spices, this delivers a delightful mouthful of flavor. The tannins are succulent, the midpalate feels smooth and the alcohol folds nicely into the lingering finish popping with pungent spices.”
